Life Sciences in Poland

Life Science in Poland

While Poland is becoming a new European manufacturing hub for complex generics and biosimilars, there is currently no purpose-built life science facility available for lease in Poland. All lab facilities are either state owned (universities, government agencies) or owner-occupied, all with a zero-vacancy rate.

In respect of the number of graduates with biopharma-related university degrees, Poland ranks 1st in CEE and 5th in Europe. Poland offers broad access to highly qualified researchers in 38 universities with educational programs in biotechnology, medical biotechnology, molecular biotechnology, environmental biotechnology, and other biology-related studies (30 at the PhD level). In the academic year 2020/2021, there were approximately 38,000 students dedicated to these areas of studies, with 11,000 graduates entering the labor market representing a 30% increase year-over-year.
